Clear fees, agreed from the outset

We believe the way professional services are priced should reflect the way they are delivered. Traditional hourly billing can make costs difficult to predict and place too much emphasis on time spent rather than the work being done and the outcome the client is working towards. Legalstone takes a different approach. We work on a fixed-fee and project basis, agreeing the scope of our work and the associated fee with you before we begin. Whether you need support with a defined piece of work or a more complex matter involving several workstreams, our fees are shaped around what the engagement actually requires. For straightforward matters, this may mean a fixed fee for a clearly defined service or deliverable. For larger or more complex engagements, we develop a project scope around the objectives, work involved and capabilities required, with the fee agreed accordingly. If the nature or scope of the matter changes, we discuss this with you before undertaking additional work and agree any corresponding change to the scope or fee. Where external professionals or specialists are required, we will explain how their involvement is expected to be structured and any separate costs that may apply. Our approach is designed to provide greater clarity from the outset — allowing you to understand what we are doing, what it will cost and what the engagement is intended to deliver, without watching the clock.
